Healing and Personal Growth through Compassionate Counseling

Sometimes it is too much to suffer and struggle alone and the help of a professional counselor becomes necessary. You may be experiencing loss, wrestling with feelings of depression, anxiety, or anger due to a difficult life transition, relationship issues, or past trauma. Or perhaps you are confronting the big questions in life or seeking to uncover your deepest self. Whatever leads you to take the courageous step of entering therapy, you can trust that I will create a safe, non-judgmental environment that nurtures the conditions needed for you to change and heal.

My approach is holistic, recognizing the fundamentally interconnected nature of body, mind, and soul. The overarching goal of my work is to help you discover a more fulfilling and healthy way of being. I see myself as a kind of midwife of the psyche, helping you as you work to release unhealthy patterns of thought and emotion to make way for the birth of a more authentic self. My theoretical orientation is eclectic, drawing inspiration and expertise from Humanistic, Jungian, Self-psychology, and Buddhist psychology.

I hold a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology with emphasis in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute and a Bachelor's Degree in Cultural Anthropology from University of Oregon. Graduate coursework included: Theoretical Foundations of Depth Psychology, Human Development, Psychotherapy Process, Clinical Psychotherapy, Marriage and Family Therapy, and Myth, Literature, and Religious Studies. My thesis was on the application of Buddhist ideas and practices to psychotherapy.
